Starlites Shine at U.S. Finals, Virginia Beach

The Starlites Dance teams competed Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the U.S. Finals National Dance Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  This National Dance competition is one of seven U.S. Finals sites across the United States.  The Virginia Beach competition hosted 730 dance and cheer teams, all competing for 1st place in their respective categories.

The Starlites Tiny Team (ages 4-6) placed 2nd in Pom and 3rd in Hip Hop.  Team members are Captain Nevaeh Sheffer, Israella Post, Reese Sloan and Ava Slossar.

The Starlites Mini Team (ages 6-9) placed 1st in Pom, Jazz and 4th in Hip Hop.  Team members are Captain Abby Slossar, Captain Emma Higgins, Madison Bajis, Emma Curtis, Kaylee Davis, Mollie Eagen, Ella Jacobs, Emilee Lier, Lauren Ryan, CJ Schott, Nevaeh Sheffer, Rylee Sloan, Jayde Ullenbruch and Reese VonHiltmayer.

The Starlites Youth Team (ages 8-12) placed 1st in Pom, Jazz, Lyrical and 6th (out of 14 teams) in hip hop.  Team members are Captain Morgan Smith, Jillian Curtis, Alivia Dunn, Averie Dunn, Mollie Eagen, Lucy Fabick, Alena Foster,  Maddy Hemby, Miranda Hudson, Rylee Martin, Lacey Mayes, Brynn McGregor, Mallory Nowiski, Kevin Schott, Allison Slossar, Brianna Slossar and Hannah Szyska.

The Starlites Junior Team (ages 12-15) placed 1st in Pom, Jazz, Lyrical and 6th in hip hop.  Team members are Captain Adrienne Slossar, Ashley Blais, Andrea Dunn, Emma Huston, Hailee Kleeves, Autumn Nay, Jamie Rich, Mackenzie Schott and Younique Williams.

The Starlites have now been moved to the Champions Challenge round, which includes all 1st place teams from all seven locations.  The routines will be rejudged by an appointed panel of judges, utilizing the videotaped routines from each location.

As of Thursday, May 8th, all eight of the Starlites 1st place routines are still in the running for the top overall final rankings for all seven locations!  Champions Challenge final rankings will take place the week of May 12th, with placements being posted on theusfinals.com website.
